Border Crossing Information

Some travel days are busier than others throughout the U.S. and Canada, and those can lead to longer wait times at the border. There are, however, some things travellers can do to try to beat or avoid the traffic. If you’re planning a trip that will fall on a busy Friday or holiday, it’s always a good idea to leave the day before if possible, or to travel early on that day to get ahead of the crowds.

It’s also a good idea to make sure you have all relevant ID ready as you approach the border guard, keep receipts from purchases close by and check wait times to see if it’s worth leaving a little earlier or later on that particular day.
